Yep it's been three weeks and I just got the news that I am gonna be braced up on the 6th of June! Finally!!! Also if you haven't noticed in the last few pictures my over lapping tooth seems to have moved a lot. This may explain why I don't have a big gap between my two front teeth. Ortho thinks it fractured around that area. I see my ortho again on the 4th for a quick check up and then braces on the 6th and oral surgeon on the 7th. Here are my teeth after 23 turns.

Quick update from today
Saw ortho again today. Things looked good the wobbly front tooth seems to be hardening although it still seems wobbly to me. There is a spot on my front tooth where the gum is pulling away from the tooth so we are keeping an eye on that. I see a major difference with the overlapping tooth on top. It seems to have moved the most. I go see the ortho again on Wednesday. Here is a picture of my teeth.

Two weeks ago tomorrow!
Well it's been almost two weeks since my surgery. I am doing well my oral surgeon was impressed with the lack of bruising in my face. I had a lot of swelling for the first week but I am pretty much back to normal now. I do still have numbness in the right side of my face which is from under my eye down and across my upper lip. I drool a lot too. I still struggle speaking words like meat and eat. But I am improving in my speech. I also have lost a LOT of weight. I won't get into numbers but I am kinda nervous about losing to much more. My mom left last night back to CA I miss her very much but so appreciated having her with me through the rough beginning. I met with my ortho today. He has very little concern about my loose front tooth and had no problem cranking my expander 4 times! Ouch!!! I have to turn it twice tomorrow and see him on Thursday again. I am now off to my oral surgeon for a check up and then to get my daughter and go back home here are pictures of me today.

I see progress!
After the removal of number 5 and two more turns I am beginning to see a gap. Oddly I am excited about this. Turning the key everyday is exciting for me because I am moving forward and it's an improvement from what it once was. Here is a comparison of my teeth now and pre-surgery.

Day 7 feeling a lot better
Well swelling has gone down even more. I avoided taking a nap The usual nap during the day and actually got some house work done. My front teeth are coming apart now and I go see the oral surgeon tomorrow for a check up. Wish me luck. Here is how my face is looking and my teeth after 8 turns.

Day 5 happy mother's day!
I am improving day by day. Trying to do more and more. I am eating more although I am still eating only liquids and mush. My teeth feel strange like wobbly strange and numb on my upper arch. My upper lip is also numb and also swollen. I struggle to smile and laugh or really show any expression at all. This is all normal I am told. The swelling was bad this morning but it got better by afternoon. Here I am on day 5.

Day 4 getting somewhat better
I still have a lot swelling and developed a bruise under my left eye. But I got up today and took a shower and drank a breakfast shake. I managed to swallow a bowl and a half of Mac and cheese last night as well. Food isn't the same when you can hardly chew and you tongue doesn't touch the roof of your mouth but instead touches metal. I still am able to breastfeed my baby. I am careful of what I take and pump and dump if I take something that isn't safe for Lyra. I am hoping things are on the up and up. I mostly miss giving my sweet baby and husband kisses and of course receiving kisses in return. My mom has been a great help and Lyra is really enjoying having Grandma Leslie around. I am struggling with turning the RPE it's kinda hard to do but I think I have managed to turn it twice now. It can only get better right? Anyway here are pictures of me on day 4. The first picture is of my daughter helping me with my ice pack. Once my lip isn't so swollen I with share the progress on my teeth not much of a change yet anyway.

Day 2 ice, ice, ice
Today I am greatful! I a greatful for my husband, my mom and all my family and friends that are so supportive of me in this journey. Today I am in pain. My upper lip is numb and swollen. Yesterday there was an issue with a tooth in my upper jaw acting loose so I went to the ortho and he said I would have to wait until the swelling went down before they could brace it. They turned it 3 times and told me to turn the RPE only 1 time a day until the next appointment on the 22nd. Below are some not so pretty pictures of me on day 2.

Pain!
Yes there is pain and blood, tears and swelling. I feel like a wreck and apologizing to my mom and husband constantly. When I first woke from the surgery I felt crossed eyed, confused and I was crying. I am so glad my mom was there to help me. I am so tried I am going to go sleep. Here is a pic right after surgery.
